Section 8. Cessation of membership.

8. A nominated or elected member of the Council shall be deemed to have vacated his or her seat, if : (a) He or She is absent without sufficient ground in the opinion of the Council for three consecutive meetings of the Council ; and (b) He or She is absent out of India for a period exceeding six months.
