Section 20. Recovery of expenses of detention.

This Act was repealed on 30 September 2022 by the Assam Repealing Act, 2022 (33 of 2022), s.2 and the Schedule (the whole Act); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
20. The expenses of detention and production before the Veterinary Officer incurred under section 19 shall be recoverable at such rates as may be prescribed from the owner of the animal. If he fails to pay the amount due, it may, without prejudice to any other mode of recovery, be recovered by sale, by public auction, of such number of the owner’s animals as may be sufficient to realise such amount.
