Section 3. Definitions.

This Act was repealed on a date we do not have by the Assam Cattle Preservation Act, 2021 (named as the Act repealing it at entry 33 of the Assam Legislative Department's list of repealed Acts; the list gives no date); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
3. Definitions.—In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the sub-ject or context,— (i) “cattle” means an animal to which this Act applies ; (ii) “certifying officer” means an official or non-official appointed as such ; (iii) “prescribed” means prescribed by rules made under this Act ; (iv) “veterinary officer” means a person appointed as such or invested with the powers of a veterinary officer under section 4.
