This Act was repealed on a date we do not have by the Assam Elementary Education (Provincialisation) (Repealing) Act, 2022; it may still apply to matters that began before then.
17. (1) If the attendance authority is satisfied that a child due to economic or other circumstances connected with the family to which the child belongs, is unable to attend an approved school in the manner required by or under this Act, it may permit the child to attend any institution imparting part-time elementary education. (2) A child receiving education under sub-section (1) shall be deemed to have fulfilled the requirements of section 16 of this Act.
