This Act was repealed on a date we do not have by the Assam Elementary Education (Provincialisation) (Repealing) Act, 2022; it may still apply to matters that began before then.
5. As soon as this Act comes into force, Government may, if and when necessary, vest the management of elementary school/schools, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed, in the local authorities of the area concerned: Provided that nothing in this section shall preclude the right of minorities whether based on religion or language or any private body from managing their own schools.
