Section 30. Protection and indemnity.

This Act was repealed on 7 February 2023 by the Assam Evacuee Property (Repealing) Act, 2022 (Assam Act 71 of 2023), s.2(1); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
30. Protection and indemnity.—(1) No suit or other legal proceeding shall lie against the State Government or any servant of the State Government for anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of this Act or the rules made thereunder. (2) No suit, prosecution or other legal proceeding shall lie against the Committee or any person for anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of this Act or the rules made thereunder. (3) No suit, prosecution or other legal proceeding shall lie against the State Government or any servant of the State Government for anything which before the commencement of this Act, was in good faith done or intended to be done for the protection, preservation or management of any property of an evacuee.
