Section 5. Arrest and trial.

This Act was repealed on a date we do not have by The Assam Repealing Act, 2022 (XXXIII); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
5. (a) If a person commits an offence mentioned in section 4 he may be arrested without warrant by any police officer not below the rank of a Sub-Inspector. (b) A person so arrested shall, with the least possible delay, be taken before a Magistrate having authority to try him.
