Section 19. Filling up of casual vacancy.

This Act was repealed on 21 May 2022 by The Assam State Higher Education Council (Repealing) Act, 2022 (Assam Act 19 of 2022); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
19. If a casual vacancy arises of a nominated or appointed Member, either by reason of his death, resignation, removal or otherwise, such vacancy shall be filled up by the Government by nomination or appointment as the case may be and such Member shall hold office only for the remaining period of the term of the Member in whose place he was nominated or appointed.
