1. Short title, extent and commencement. - (1) This Act may be called the 2[Dadra and Nagar Haveli and] Daman and Diu Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1978. (2) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of 3[Dadra and Nagar Haveli and] Daman and Diu. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification, appoint.
