Section 58. Causing damage to highways.

58. Causing damage to highways.— Whoever in contravention of sub-section (1) of section 54 wilfully causes, or allows any vehicle or animals in his charge to cause any damage to any highway, shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to 23[ten] thousand rupees.
