Article 174 – Providers of maintenance in absence of parents and other ascendants – In the absence of parents and of other ascendants, legitimate or legitimated children may request maintenance from their legitimate, full blood, uterine or consanguine siblings, but only subsidiarily and in the order herein indicated.
