Article 1784 - Indisposable portion - Legitime means the portion of the assets that the testator cannot dispose of, because it has been set apart by law for the heirs in straight line descendant or ascendant. § Sole paragraph – This portion consists of half of the properties of the testator, save as provided in Clause 2 of article 1785 and article 1787.
