Portuguese Civil Code, 1867

Article 44 – Change of domicile – A citizen may change his domicile, whenever he desires, by declaration of the fact before the Municipalities, from which and to which the change is made. § Sole paragraph - Such declaration shall have effect, provided that the transferor has set up his residence in the taluka shown by him.
