Section 8. Collector to determine amount.

8. (1) On receipt of an application under section 7 the Collector shall, after making a formal enquiry in the manner provided in the Code, make an award determining the amount payable to the owner under section 6: 2[ Provided that where the amount so determined exceeds three lakhs of rupees the award shall not be made without the previous approval of the State Government.3****;] (3) Every award under sub-section (1) shall, so far as may be, be in the form prescribed in section 26 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894.
