The Gujarat Private Universities Act,2009.

32. (1) The existing provisions of the State Government relating to admissions and fee structure shall be applicable to such private Universities. (2) Admission in the University shall be strictly on the basis of merit. (3) Merit for admission in the University may be determined either on the basis of marks of grade obtained in the qualifying examination and achivements in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities or on the basis of marks or grade obtained in the entrance test conducted at State level either by an association of the Universities conducting similar coures or by any agency of the State Government: Provided that the admission in professional eductional colleges or institutions of such private Universities shall be governed under the provisions of the Gujarat Professional Technical Educational Colleges or Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007 and the Gujarat Professional Medical Education Colleges or Institutions (Regulations of Admission and Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007.
