1. Short title, extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Himachal Pradesh Debt Reduction Act, 1976. (2) This Chapter and Chapters III to V shall extend to the whole of Himachal Pradesh and Chapter II to such areas as the State Government may, from time to time by notification, direct. (3) This Act shall come into force on such date1 as the State Government may, by notification, appoint in this behalf.
