1. Short title, extent and commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Jammu and Kashmir Ancient Monuments Preservation Act, 1977. (2) It extends to the whole of Jammu and Kashmir *State. It shall come into force on the 1st day of Baisakh, 1978.
