18. Report of Mineral Survey Officer to be used as evidence. Any document purporting to be a report under the hand of any Mineral Survey Officer of the 1[Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] upon any sapphire or ruby duly submitted to him for examination and report in the course of any proceedings under this Act, may be used as evidence in any enquiry, trial or other proceedings under this Act.
