1. Short title, extent and commencement. – (1) This Act may be called the Bihar Prohibition Act, 1938. (2) It extends to the whole of the province of Bihar. (3) This section and sections 3 and 9 shall come into force in the whole of the Province of Bihar at once. (4) The remaining provisions of this Act, or any of them, shall come into force in any local area in the Province of Bihar on such date as the Governor may, by notification, and different dates, may be appointed for different provisions.
