Section 36. Penalty for false statement

36 If any person who is required to make a statement under this Act, willfully makes a false statement or suppresses a material fact with the intention to mislead the prescribed authority, he shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with fine not exceeding Rs. 25,000.00 or with both.
