26. The Research Council.- (1) The Research Council shall be the Principal Research Committee of the University and shall provide the larger holistic vision of the kind of research to be undertaken by the University, including prioritization of the research areas. This Council shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes, Regulations and the Rules, co-ordinate and exercise general supervision over the Research and innovation polices of the University. (2) The Research Council shall consist of the following, namely:- (i) The Vice-Chancellor - Chair Person (ii) The Pro Vice Chancellor - Member (iii) The Dean of Research - Secretary (iv) Head of the Department of Innovation - Member (v) Deans of all Faculties – Members and (vi) Such other members as may be specified in the Statutes.
