Section 9. Powers of authorised officer.
THE KERALA RESTRICTION ON CUTTING AND DESTRUCTION OF VALUABLE TREES ACT, 1974
This Act was repealed on 18 June 1983 by the Kerala Preservation of Trees Act, 1986 (35 of 1986), s.26(1); that Act is deemed in force from 18 June 1983 by its s.1(3); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
9. Powers of authorised officer.—The authorised officer shall for the purpose of performing his functions under this Act, have all the powers of a civil court while trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act 5 of 1908), in respect of the following matters, namely:— (a) summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath; (b) requiring the discovery and production of any document; and (c) receiving evidence on affidavit.
