Section 55. Commencement of conciliation proceeding.

55. Commencement of conciliation proceeding.— On receipt of the statement of the case under section 54 the Conciliator shall except in a case in which by reason of the provisions of section 64 a conciliation proceeding cannot be commenced, 1[within a week] enter the industrial dispute in the register kept for the purpose and thereupon the conciliation proceeding shall be deemed to have commenced from 2[the date of such entry in the register, which date shall be communicated by him to the parties concerned].
