2. Definitions.— In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires— (a) “Chief Controlling Revenue Authority” means such officer as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf for the whole or any part of the 5[State of Maharashtra]; (b) “Collector” includes any officer authorised by the Chief Controlling Revenue Authority to perform the functions of a Collector under this Act; (c) “Plaint” includes a written statement pleading a set-off or counter-claim.
