Section 6. Extension of period of 6[Council].

6. Extension of period of 6[Council].— Notwithstanding anything contained in section 5, the State Government may, by a notification in the Official Gazette, extend the term of office of the members of the 7[Council] for a further period not exceeding one year in the aggregate.
