52. General Penalty.— Whoever contravenes the provisions of this Act or any rule or regulations made thereunder or fails to comply with any notice, order or requisition issued under this Act shall on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees or with both.
