1. Short title, extent and commencement.— (1) This Act may be called 2[the Maharashtra Lotteries (Control and Tax) and Prize Competitions (Tax) Act]. (2) It extends to the whole of the 3[State of Maharashtra]. (3) It shall come into force on such date4 as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf.
