116. Drafts on the municipal fund to be checked by 7[officer of the Corporation].— The 8[Officers of the Corporation] 9[* * * *] shall not sign any cheque under section 113 without first satisfying themselves that the sum for which such cheque is drawn is either covered by a budget-grant as aforesaid or is an item of one of the excepted descriptions specified in sub-section (2) of the last preceding section.
