8[5. Composition of Corporation.— (1) The Corporation shall consist of,— (a) 9[two hundred and twenty-seven] councillors directly elected at ward elections; and (b) 10[ten nominated councillors] having special knowledge or experience in Municipal Administration to be nominated by the Corporation in the prescribed manner: Provided that, nothing in this sub-section shall have effect until the expiry of the existing term of the Corporation. (2) The Corporation shall by the name of “The Municipal Corporation of 1[Brihan Mumbai]” be a body corporate and have perpetual succession and a common seal and by such name may sue and be sued.]
