Section 85A. Temporary appointment.

5[85A. Temporary appointment.— Notwithstanding anything contained in the foregoing provisions, when a vacancy occurs in any of the posts referred to in sub-section (1) of section 80B the corporation 6[or 7[the Brihan Mumbai Electric supply and Transport Committee,] as the case may be] may, pending the appointment of a person in accordance with the provision 8[* *] of the said section, appoint any person to be fill such vacancy on a monthly salary not exceeding the maximum salary of the post: Provided that no appointment under this section shall extend beyond, or be made after a lapse of, six months from the date on which the vacancy occurs.]
