Section 9. Qualification for election as councillor.

9. Qualification for election as councillor.— (1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, 2[a person who 3[is not less than twenty-one years of age on the last date fixed for making nominations for any general election or bye-election and] is enrolled in the municipal election roll as a voter for award] shall be qualified to be a councillor and to be elected either from such ward or from any other ward. (2) Any person who ceases to be a councillor shall, if qualified under sub-section (1), be eligible for re-election as such.
