1. Short title, extent and commencement.— (1) This Act may be called the 2[Maharashtra Personal Inams Abolition Act]. (2) It extends to the 3[Bombay area of the State of Maharashtra] excluding the merged territories. (3) It shall come into force on such date4 as the State Government may by notification in the Official Gazette specify in this behalf.
