1. Short title, extent and commencement.— (1) This Act may be called the 2[the Maharashtra Stamp Act]. (2) It extends to the whole of the 3[State of Maharashtra]. (3) It shall come into force on such date4 as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, direct.
