Suspension of operation of Act, rules and bye-laws.— If the State Government is satisfied that circumstances have arisen by reason of earthquake or similar natural calamity rendering it necessary that certain provisions of this Act or any rules or bye-laws made thereunder, which impede or delay the rapid rehabilitation or giving of relief to persons affected thereby, should be suspended or relaxed in the public interest, the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, suspend or relax for such period and in such areas as may be specified in the notification the operation of any of the provisions of this Act or any rules or bye-laws made thereunder.]
