1. Short title, extent and commencement.— (1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1961. (2) It extents to the whole of the State of Maharashtra, except Greater Bombay. (3) It shall come into force on such 2date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
