Section 134. How district fund shall be drawn against.

134. How district fund shall be drawn against.— (1) Subject to the provisions of sections 258, 259, 260 and 268 no payment shall be made from the Government treasury or by a bank or co-operative society out of district fund except upon a cheque or letter of credit signed by 8[the Chief Executive Officer] 9[or any officer specifically authorised by him in this behalf]. (2) Payment of any sum in excess of 10[one thousand rupees] shall be made by means of a cheque or letter of credit signed as aforesaid, and not in any other way.
