Section 88. Removal of Chairman of Subjects Committee.

88. Removal of Chairman of Subjects Committee.— Without prejudice to the provisions of section 87, a Chairman of a Subjects Committee may be removed from office by the State Government for misconduct in the discharge of his duties or neglect of, or incapacity to perform his duty or for being persistently remiss in the discharge thereof, or guilty of any disgraceful conduct; and the Chairman so removed shall not be eligible for re-election as Chairman during the remainder of his term of office as Councillor : Provided that, no Chairman shall be removed from office unless he has been given an opportunity to furnish his explanation.
