The Nagaland State Council of Higher Education Act, 2014

3 Constitution of the Council (i) The Government shall constitute the council to be called the Nagaland State Council of Higher Education which shall consist of the following, namely:- Sl.No. Category Designation (i) The Chief Minister of Nagaland Chairman (ii) Minister/Parliamentary Secretary in charge of the Higher Education, Nagaland Vice-Chairman (iii) The Commissioner & Secretary or Secretary in charge of Department of Higher & Technical Education, Nagaland Member Secretary (iv) Director, Higher Education, Nagaland Member (v) Additional Director, Higher education & State Project Director, Nagaland Member (vi) The Finance Commissioner, Nagaland or his representative not below the rank of Joint Secretary. Member (vii) The Development Commissioner, Nagaland or his representative not below the rank of Joint Development Commissioner. Member (viii) Ten academicians of repute from different academic disciplines of whom two shall be a Woman and belonging to backward tribes of Nagaland ( to be nominated by the State Government) Members (x) Two Principals of autonomous colleges ( to be nominated by the Government) Members (xi) One nominee of the Government of India ( to be nominated by MHRD) Ex-officio Member (xii) One Nominee of the University Grants Commission Ex-officio Member (xiii) Secretary, Justice & Law, Nagaland Ex-officio Member (xiv) The Principal Director, School Education Ex-officio Member (xv) The Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland Ex-officio Member (xvi) The Director, Technical Education Ex-officio Member (xvii) The Chairman, NBSE Ex-officio Member (2) The Council be a body corporate by the name aforesaid, having perpetual succession out a common seal and shall by the said name and be used. (3) The headquarters of the Council shall be in Kohima.
