Section 393-A. Appointment and powers and functions of Director and Deputy Director

1[393-A. Appointment and powers and functions of Director and Deputy Director :– (1) The State Government may appoint an officer to be the Director of Municipal Administration for the State who shall perform such functions and exercise such powers as are delegated under Section 408 or conferred by this Act or the rules made thereunder. (2) The State Government may also appoint such number of Deputy Directors as they deem fit for assisting the Director and they shall be subject to the direction and control of the Director. (3) The Deputy Director so appointed shall exercise such powers, perform such functions and shall have such local jurisdiction as may be assigned by the State Government.]
