6. Rights of raiyats and prohibition of letting. - (1) The rights of a raiyat in any land held by him as such shall be permanent heritable and transferable. (2) Notwithstanding anything in Sub-section (1) but subject to the provisions of Sub-section (3) a transfer after the commencement of this Act by way of a lease of any land held by a raiyat shall be void and inoperative. (3) It shall be lawful for a raiyat who is a person under disability or is privileged raiyat to lease out his lands to any tenant.
