The Odisha Water Supply and Sewerage Board Act, 1991

3. (1) As soon as may be, after the commencement of this Act, the State Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, with effect from a date to be specified therein, establish for the purposes of this Act, a Board to be called "the Orissa Water Supply and Sewerage Board". (2) The Board shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal, and may sue or be sued in its corporate name and shall subject to the provisions of this Act, be competent to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both movable and immovable, and to contract and do all things necessary for the purposes of this Act. (3) The Board shall be deemed to be a Local Authority.
