THE PUDUCHERRY SHOPS AND ESTABLISHMENTS ACT, 1964

*[44-A. Employer to furnish letter of appointment and identity card to employees.- (1) The employer of every shop and establishment shall furnish every employee with a letter of appointment. Such letter of appointment shall contain the following particulars and such other particulars as may be prescribed, namely:- (a) the name of the employer; (b) the name and the postal address of the establishment; (c) the name, father’s name and age of the employee (d) the hours of work; (e) date of appointment (2) The employer shall also issue an identity card to the employee containing the photograph of the employee along with the following details:- (a) the name of the employer; (b) name of the establishment with postal address; (c) name, father’s name and age of the employee; (d) employee’s residential address; (e) signature of the employer.]
