Section 15. Electoral Registration Officer.

15. (1) The electoral rolls for each Panchayat or Municipality shall be prepared and revised by an Electoral Registration Officer who shall be such Officer of the State Government or of a local authority, as the Election Commission may, in consultation with the Government, designate or nominate in this behalf. (2) An Electoral Registration Officer may subject to any restriction, as may be prescribed, employ such persons as he thinks fit for the preparation and revision of the electoral rolls for the Panchayats or the Municipalities.
