262. Patwaris, etc. to be public servants – Every Patwari, Girdawar Qanungo or land Records Inspetor 113[and Sadar Qanungo] appointed under Chapter III and every person appointed temporarily to discharge the duties of any of them shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of S. 21 of the Indian Penal Code (Central Act XLV of 1960) and all official and the property of the State.
