17. Duty to maintain accounts in specified cases Notwithstanding anything in this Act or in any enactment constituting any local authority or in any rules made there under, the 29[Director] shall perform such duties and exercise such powers in relation to maintenance of such accounts of such local authority or authorities as the State Government may direct.
