54. Assignment of Functions to a Panchayat Samiti or a Zila Parishad.- (1) The Government may assign to a Panchayat Samiti or a Zila Parishad functions in relation to any matters to which the executive authority of the State Government extends or the functions which have been assigned to the State Government by the Central Government. (2) The State Government may, by notification, withdraw or modify the functions assigned under this section.
