Section 28. The Planning Board.

This Act was repealed on 26 September 2011 by Tamil Nadu University Laws (Amendment and Repeal) Act, 2011 (Tamil Nadu Act 20 of 2011), s.33(1); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
28.The Planning Board.— (1) There shall be constituted a Planning Board of the University which shall advise generally on the planning and development of the University and review the standard of education and research in the University. (2) The Planning Board shall consist of the following members, namely:- (a) the Vice-Chancellor, who shall be the ex-officio Chairperson of the Board; and (b) not more than eight persons of high academic standing. (3) The members of the Planning Board shall be appointed by the Chancellor on the recommendations of the Vice-Chancellor and shall hold office for such period as he may determine. (4) The Planning Board shall, in addition to all other powers vested in it by this Act, have the right to advise the Syndicate and the Academic Council on any academic matter.
