Section 17. Prohibition of simultaneous representation.

17. (1) If a person is elected by more than one constituency, he shall by notice in writing, signed by him and delivered to the Collector within the prescribed time, choose any one of the constituencies which he shall serve and the choice shall be final. (2) When any such choice has been made, the constituency or constituencies other than the constituency which such person has chosen to serve shall be called upon to elect another person or persons. (3) If the candidate does not make the choice referred to in sub-section (1) of this section, the election of such person shall be void and all constituencies concerned shall be called upon to elect another person or persons.
