Section 48. Penalty for vexatious delay.

48. Any officer or person exercising powers under this Act, who vexatiously and unnecessarily delays forwarding to the nearest #[Prohibition and Excise Officer] or to the officer-in-charge of the nearest police station, as required by sub-section (2) of section 60 any person arrested, shall on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees.
