Section 38. Notice to claimants to drift timber.

38. Where any timber is collected by the forest officer or other person under section 37, he shall immediately report the same to the Divisional Forest Officer who shall publish a notice in the District Gazette concerned or where there is no such Gazette, in the 14Telangana Gazette, requiring any person claiming the same to present to him within a period, not exceeding two months, from the date of such notice, a written statement of such claim. Such notice shall contain a description of the timber and the place from which it was collected and the depot or station at which it is stored.
